Club History

Bradford Town Football Club

(Founded 1992)

The Early Years (1992 – 1996)
Bradford Town F.C. was founded in 1992 by Les and Pat Stevens, joining Division Two of the Wiltshire League. Home matches were played at St Laurence School in Bradford on Avon where the pitch was roped off before each game, dugouts were carried to the pitch and the half time tea was made in the boot of a car.
In 1996, the club moved into Trowbridge Road, a ground which was established in 1912 as the home of rubber works team Spencer Moulton FC and latterly Avon Bradford FC.
League Success (2006 – 2014)
Bradford achieved success in the Wiltshire Leagues before Mark Hodkinson guided the team to finishing runners up in the Premier Division in 2006, securing a place in the Western League Division One.
Floodlights were installed for the first time in 2008-09 season which saw the club post a 3rd place league finish. A 100-seat main stand was erected the following year and in 2014 the club won the Western League Division One title by 13 points under the management of Paul Shanley.
Cup Campaigns
The club has reached the FA Vase 5th round on three occasions and recorded their record gate of 621 for a 4th Round victory in the FA Vase over neighbours Melksham Town in 2016. The following year, after three victories in the FA Cup, We were edged out 3-2 by Chippenham Town in the 2nd Qualifying Round, which remains our furthest progression in the FA Cup to date.
2021 saw Bradford claim their first trophy since 2014 when Bradford defeated a much-fancied Bridgwater Town side 1-0 at Street FC’s ground to lift the Les Phillps Cup. The club would be transferred across to play the 2021-22 season in the Hellenic League Premier Division for the
first time, recording a 6th place finish.
Club Restructure and Promotion (2022 – 2025)
After an exodus of management and squad members following a restructuring of the club, the club succumbed to relegation from the Hellenic League Premier Division in 2023.
Chris Carr took charge as our First Team Manager in the 2023/24 season, leading the club to a solid 8th place finish back in the Western League Division One. In the following season, the club finally made our return to Step 5, securing promotion via the play-offs after a 4th place league finish, culminating in 5-0 win away at Calne Town FC in the final.
